Call Forwarding Options

Call Forwarding is a collection of features that lets you specify how calls are handled when you are away from your phone. These features are managed in your online account and are included at no cost with your service.

Enable Call Forwarding Features
Set Up by Super User or Administrator
  1. Sign in to the Admin Portal.
  2. Click Phone System and then click Extensions.
  3. Hover over the extension you want to set and then click the Pencil icon.
  4. Click Call Forwarding and then toggle Forward Calls to enabled:
     
    Forward Calls DisabledDirects all unanswered incoming calls to Voicemail and lets you specify the number of rings before Voicemail answers.

    Forward Calls EnabledSelect one of the following options to specify how calls are handled when you are away from your phone:
     
    Send To Ext. Or NumberDirects incoming calls to an extension or an outside phone number. Forwarded calls ring for the amount of time you specify and if no one answers, the call goes directly to voicemail. Calls forwarded to international or geographic areas not included in your plan are subject to additional charges.

    NOTE: If you use the Vonage Business Communications App on your mobile phone, do not forward calls to that phone number as it results in two incoming calls at the same time, where the call is immediately sent to the voicemail of your mobile phone.
     
    Send To Ext. Or NumberEnter a phone number or select an extension to receive forwarded calls.
    Use Caller IDSelect a Caller ID option:
     
    Originating Caller IDDisplays Caller ID information of the person who calls.
    Number on AccountSelect a number on your account to display as Caller ID.
    NOTE: For internal forwarding (extension to extension), the Caller ID shows the originating number regardless of the Caller ID option selected.

    IMPORTANT: If you want to forward calls to your personal mobile phone after hours, use the Virtual Receptionist.
    Follow MeDirects incoming calls to ring up to five extensions and/or phone numbers in the sequence you specify.
     
    When My Phone Rings...
    1. Enter a phone number or select an extension to ring and then select the number of rings before sending to Voicemail.
    2. Click Add Another Rule, if applicable, to add additional numbers and extensions to ring.
    If No Answer, Send to Voicemail NumberSelect the extension to receive voicemail if the call is unanswered. 
    Use Caller IDSelect a Caller ID option:
     
    Originating Caller IDDisplays Caller ID information of the person who calls.
    Number on AccountSelect a number on your account to display as Caller ID.

    Simultaneous RingDirects incoming calls to ring up to five different numbers at the same time.
     
    When My Phone Rings...
    1. Click to select an extension or add a number, including a non-extension number.
    2. Click Add Another Rule to add additional numbers, up to five.
    Send to Voicemail AfterSelect the number of rings before callers are sent to Voicemail.
    Use Caller IDSelect a Caller ID option:
     
    Originating Caller IDDisplays Caller ID information of the person who calls.
    Number on AccountSelect a number on your account to display as Caller ID.

Set Up by End User
  1. Sign in to your Online Account.
  2. Click the Avatar Avatar, then click Settings.
  3. Click Call Forwarding to set options:
     
    Send to VoicemailDirects all unanswered incoming calls to Voicemail and lets you specify how many seconds must elapse before Voicemail picks up.

    Forward All CallsDirects incoming calls to an extension or an outside phone number. Forwarded calls ring for the amount of time you specify and if no one answers, the call goes directly to voicemail.
     
    Forward All My Calls ToEnter a phone number or select an extension to receive forwarded calls.

Turn Off Call Forwarding Features
Super User or Administrator
Voicemail
  1. Sign in to the Admin Portal.
  2. Click Extensions.
  3. Hover over the extension associated with Voicemail and click the Pencil icon.
  4. Click Voicemail and then toggle the Voicemail option to disabled.
  5. Click Save.
Call Forwarding
  1. Sign in to the Admin Portal.
  2. Click Extensions.
  3. Hover over the extension associated with Call Forwarding and click the Pencil icon.
  4. Click Call Forwarding and then toggle the Forward Calls option to disabled. 
  5. Click Save.
Follow Me
  1. Sign in to the Admin Portal.
  2. Click Extensions.
  3. Hover over the extension associated with Follow Me and click the Pencil icon.
  4. Click Call Forwarding.
  5. Toggle the Forward Calls option to disabled or select either Send To Ext. Or Number or
  6.  Simultaneous Ring
  7. Click Save.
Simultaneous Ring
  1. Sign in to the Admin Portal.
  2. Click Extensions.
  3. Hover over the extension associated with Simultaneous Ring and click the Pencil icon.
  4. Click Call Forwarding.
  5. Toggle the Forward Calls option to disabled or select either Send To Ext. Or Number or Follow Me
  6. Click Save.
End User
Voicemail
  1. Sign in to your Online Account.
  2. Click the Avatar Avatar, then click Settings.
  3. Click Call Forwarding and then select one of the other options, such as Call ForwardingFollow Me, or Simultaneous Ring
  4. Click Save.
Call Forwarding
  1. Sign in to your Online Account.
  2. Click the Avatar Avatar, then click Settings.
  3. Click Call Forwarding and then select one of the other options, such as VoicemailFollow Me, or Simultaneous Ring
  4. Click Save.
Follow Me
  1. Sign in to your Online Account.
  2. Click the Avatar Avatar, then click Settings.
  3. Click Call Forwarding and then select one of the other options, such as VoicemailCall Forwarding, or Simultaneous Ring
  4. Click Save.
Simultaneous Ring
  1. Sign in to your Online Account.
  2. Click the Avatar Avatar, then click Settings.
  3. Click Call Forwarding and then select one of the other options, such as VoicemailCall Forwarding, or Follow Me
  4. Click Save.
