Follow Me

Follow Me directs your incoming calls to ring up to five numbers in the sequence for the duration (10 to 60 seconds) that you specify. If the call is not answered, it goes to the voicemail option you choose.

NOTE: If you use the Vonage Mobile App, do not forward calls to that phone number; this action triggers two calls at the same time, and the call is immediately sent to the voicemail of the mobile phone.


Super Users and Administrators can apply these settings to extensions on their account. All user types can manage their own settings.

Super Users / Administrators
  1. Sign in to the Admin Portal.
  2. Click Phone System, and then click Extensions.
  3. Hover over the extension you want to manage and click the Pencil icon.
  4. Click Call Forwarding, then toggle Forward Calls on.
  5. Mark the Follow Me option.
  6. Select the phone numbers or extensions to ring and for how long.
  7. Select the extension that will receive voicemail if the call is unanswered.
  8. Choose the Caller ID to display when calls are forwarded from your extension.

    This option has no effect when you forward extension to extension; the originating phone number is displayed regardless of the Caller ID selected. 
  9. Click Save.
All User Types (Personal Settings)
  1. Sign in to your Online Account.
  2. Click your Avatar, then click Settings.
  3. Click Call Forwarding and then mark the option Follow Me.
  4. Select the phone numbers or extensions to ring and for how long.  
  5. Select the extension that will receive voicemail if the call is unanswered.
  6. Choose the Caller ID to display when calls are forwarded from your extension.

    This option has no effect when you forward extension to extension; the originating phone number is displayed regardless of the Caller ID selected.
  7. Click Save.
