Whether you are moving your business across town, across the country, or overseas, there is no need to cancel your Vonage Business service. Keep your account active, take your Vonage Business phones with you, and have uninterrupted phone service during your move. You can keep your old phone number or, depending on availability, change to a number that is local to your new location.
This article has some suggestions to help make your move with Vonage Business easier.
High-Speed Internet Service | If you order service and schedule installation before you move, you will be up and running with Vonage Business service at your new business location that much sooner. |
Call Continuity | When your Internet service is disconnected at your current location, calls to your Vonage number will forward to your mobile phone until you are set up with Internet service and your Vonage adapter is installed at your new location. Set your Call Continuity Number in your Online Account. |
Voicemail | Even after you disconnect your internet or phones, you can continue to receive Voicemail. You can listen to your messages from any phone or from your Online Account. Set up Voicemail to Email Notifications. |
Call Forwarding |
Use the Follow Me or Call Forwarding settings to add your mobile phone number to your inbound call flow. Follow Me can be set up to ring your cell phone or other numbers after your Vonage Business extension is called and Call Forwarding will divert all calls to a specified number even after you disconnect your Vonage Business phone or internet connection. See Manage Your Extensions Options for details on Call Forwarding settings, like Follow Me. If you have an iPhone or Android phone, you can make a receive your Vonage Business calls with the Vonage Business Mobile App. |
Moving | Make sure to keep all the cables together so you can easily install the Vonage device in your new location. |
Plug In Vonage Business Phones | Your phones will still be set up for your account and you can start making calls right away. |
Update Triple Zero (000) Address | Contact Customer Care to update your Emergency Location information. This is an important step. In the event of an emergency, Triple Zero (000) responders will have your most current location. You might also need to update your billing address and other account information. |
Change Phone Number |
Depending on availability, you can change your phone number to be local to your new location. You can change your phone number in your Admin Portal as well. You must be Super User or an Account Administrator to manage services on the account. |
