AI Transcriptions for On-Demand Call Recordings

This add-on feature is designed to transcribe On-Demand Call Recordings (UK | AU) and recorded Vonage Meetings for an assigned extension. However, you can also purchase this service to transcribe recorded Vonage Meetings only for an extension, and the ODCR feature is not required.

  • View ODCR transcriptions in the Desktop App and Mobile App, or within your Vonage Integration Suite (VGIS) productivity tool. 
  • View Vonage Meeting transcriptions in the Desktop App and Mobile App; this option is not available for your VGIS productivity tool.

Add / Assign to an Extension
Add
  1. Sign in to the Admin Portal.
  2. Click Store, click Add-Ons.
  3. Go to AI Transcription for On-Demand Call Recordings​​​​​.
  4. Enter the quantity you want, then click Add.
  5. Click the Cart (top right), then click Checkout​​​​​.
Assign
  1. Sign in to the Admin Portal.
  2. Click Billing, then click Manage Services.
  3. Go to AI Transcription for On-Demand Call Recordings and click the Pencil icon.
  4. Click Select from Available Extensions and choose the extensions to assign, then click Add Selected Extension(s).
  5. Click Save
View Call/Meeting Transcriptions

You can view your On-Demand Call Recordings (ODCR) and Vonage Meeting transcriptions in the Vonage Desktop App and Vonage Mobile App; however, for your VGIS productivity tool, you can view ODCR transcriptions only. 

Understand Transcription Limits
If...Then...
On-Demand Call Recordings
  • Can transcribe call recordings up to two hours in length (for English only now).
  • Takes less than one-third of the call recording time to transcribe. For example, a transcription for a one-hour call recording is ready in 20 minutes or less.  
  • Transcriptions are saved until deleted.
Recorded Vonage Meetings 

The Vonage Meeting host is notified when a transcription is generated. 

  • Can transcribe recorded meetings up to two hours (for English only now).
  • The Vonage Meeting host is notified once a transcription is available.
  • Transcription availability is based on the length of the meeting and the number of participants.
  • Transcriptions are saved for 30 days. 
Access on the Vonage Platform (Desktop App or Mobile App)
View On-Demand Call Recording Transcriptions
Desktop App
  1. Sign in to the Desktop App.
  2. Click Calls, then click the Recordings tab.
  3. Click a recording to view the transcription status:
     
    StatusDefinition
    SuccessA Full View option is displayed if complete.
    PendingTranscription is in progress.
    FailedTranscription unsuccessful; displays an error message for transcription failure.
  4. Click Full View for transcription details.
Mobile App
  1. Sign in to the Mobile App.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Go to the My Apps tab, then select On-Demand Call Recordings.
  4. Locate the recording and tap on it to view the transcription.
View Vonage Meeting Transcriptions
If...Then...
Desktop App
  1. Sign in to the Desktop App.
  2. Go to the Meetings tab, then click the Recorded tab.
  3. Select the recorded meeting, then click the Media tab to view the transcription status:
     
    StatusDefinition
    SuccessA Full View button displays when a transcription is available.
    PendingTranscription is in progress.
    FailedTranscription unsuccessful; displays an error message for transcription failure.
  4. Click Full View for transcription details.
Mobile App
  1. Sign in to the Mobile App.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Go to the My Apps tab, then select On-Demand Call Recordings.
  4. Locate the recording and tap on it to view the transcription.

On-Demand Call Recordings
Header (Top)
  • Name of the Transcription: <Caller/Callee’s name> + <Call Transcription>
  • Date and Time of the recording
  • Download and Delete actions based on permission:
     
    Download
    • Download All 
      Summary, Transcription, Audio Recording
    • Download Only Call Transcription
      A .txt file
    • Download Only Call Audio Recording
      An .mp3 file.
    DeleteDelete all data, which includes both Audio and Transcription.

    NOTE: Recordings are saved until deleted.
Summary Shows the number of participants / call direction and includes:

Recorded Vonage Meetings
Header (top)
  • Name of the Transcription: <Caller/Callee’s name> + Call Transcription
  • Date and Time of the recording
  • Controls to download and delete as follows:
     
    Download
    • Download All
      Transcription, Meeting Video Recording
    • Download only Meeting Transcription
      A .txt file
    • Download only Meeting Video Recording
      An .MP3 file
    • Download only Summary
      A .txt file
    DeleteDelete all recording data for Audio and Transcription.

    NOTE: Recordings are automatically purged after 30 days.
Speakers 
 
Allows you to sort by time/name/pin and host, where you can move the cursor between timeframes. It includes:
 
  • Number of participants
  • Duration of talk time for each participant
  • Percentage/absolute talk time for each participant

Access in Your VGIS Productivity Tool

Your VGIS Administrator must export these AI transcriptions before you can view them in your productivity tool. 

If...Then...
Web
  1. Click the icon in your browser (upper right) and sign in.
  2. Click Contact History (top Left), then scroll to the call you want to view.
  3. Click Call Details to open the Activity window.
  4. Click the Pencil icon to view activity details, then click the icon to open in your productivity tool. 
Desktop App
  1. Sign in to the Desktop App.
  2. Scroll to My Apps, then open your VGIS productivity tool. 
  3. Click the Pencil to access the activity details, then click the icon to open in your productivity tool.
Mobile App
  1. Sign in to the Mobile App.
  2. Tap Apps > My Apps, and select your VGIS productivity tool. 
  3. Tap on the call activity you want to view, then tap the Pencil icon.
  4. Scroll to and tap the transcription to view details.
