Waiting Rooms for Vonage Meetings

The Waiting Room feature for Vonage Meetings, when enabled, places attendees in a virtual waiting room as they join and requires approval from the host to enter the meeting.

Enable Waiting Rooms

The Waiting Room feature can be enabled through the Vonage Desktop Application (web & native apps) but not through the mobile native app.

  1. Log into the Vonage Desktop App (open the native app or go to app.vonage.com).
  2. Click on the Avatar (initials) on the top left and select Settings.
  3. Click on Application and then click Meetings.
  4. Place a checkmark in the box next to Enable Waiting Room and then click Save.
     

    NOTE: If the box next to “allow participants to join before the host” was checked, it will be automatically unchecked when the “Enable Waiting Room” box is checked.

Manage Waiting Room Participants

As participants join the meeting and are placed in the waiting room, a join request notification message is displayed to the meeting owner. Access can be allowed or denied either from the notification or by reviewing the Waiting Room Participant List.

  1. As the meeting owner, join the meeting.
  2. Access the Participant List.
  3. Click Allow or Deny for each participant in the Waiting Room section of the participant list.
    AllowMoves the participant to the active meeting.
    DenyRemoves the participant from the waiting room, with a message advising that the meeting owner declined the request to join.
