Panasonic TGP600 Phone Setup

Panasonic phones purchased from Vonage Business are delivered ready for use. A factory reset is required if the phone was used with a prior service provider.

Add a Device/Phone to Your Account

Before you set up your phone, it must be added to your account if purchased through a third party.

 
Add Device/Phone to AccountDevices purchased from Vonage are already added to the account, but not set up or assigned to any specific extension. See the next section, Assign Extension to Device/Phone, to complete the setup.  Devices added to the account can either be:
  • Left unassigned for future use or as a shared device dedicated to hoteling/used by multiple users at separate times
  • Assigned to a specific user’s extension to make or receive calls.
Add Devices to Account that Were Purchased from a Third Party
  1. Sign in to the Admin Portal.
  2. Go to Phone System, then Devices.
  3. Click the Add Device button and complete the fields:
    1. Enter the Device Name. 
    2. Select the Location of the new device (if you have multiple locations).
    3. Select the Emergency Services Location. (Specify the physical address of the device to ensure emergency personnel are dispatched to the correct location.)
    4. Select the Make of the new device.    
      Select the Model of the new device (optional). 
    5. Enter the MAC Address (should be 12 hexadecimal digits (0-9,A-F)).
  4. Click the Save button in the upper right corner of the screen.
Now the device is ready for hoteling/hot-desking use or for assignment to a specific Extension

NOTE: After saving the new device, it appears in the table on the Devices tab.  The Assignment is listed as Unassigned until an extension is set to the device.
Assign Extension to Device/Phone
  1. Sign in to the Admin Portal.
  2. Go to Phone System, then Devices.
  3. Click on the device you want to configure; the Edit Device page opens.
  4. Go to the Primary Extension dropdown and select an extension in the list.
  5. Review and confirm that the device name, location, and emergency services location are all correct.
  6. Scroll down to the Phone Configuration section and click the Refresh button to reset the device profile URL time.
  7. Click the Save button in the upper right corner of the screen.
Factory Reset the Phone
Step 1: Enable Web Access
  1. Press the Menu button.
  2. Go to Settings and then press OK.
  3. Go to Other Option and then press OK.
  4. Go to Embedded Web and then press OK.
  5. Verify ON is highlighted and then press OK.
Step 2: Acquire IP Address
  1. Press the Menu button.
  2. Go to Settings and then press OK.
  3. Go to Status and then press OK.
  4. Go to IPv4 Settings and then press OK.
  5. Go to IP Address, press OK and then document the result.
Step 3: Factory Reset Phone
  1. Open a web browser and enter the IP address of the phone in the Address bar.
  2. Sign in with the following credentials:
     
Username
admin
Password
adminpass or <Vonage Business account number> or vonage
NOTE: If you cannot sign into the web interface, see Troubleshoot Issues. Once setup is complete, your password is your Vonage account number.
 
  1. Click Maintenance tab and then click Reset to Defaults on the left.
  2. Click the Reset to Carrier Defaults button and then click OK.
Pair a Handset to the Phone Base
Step 1: On the Base UnitPress and hold the Handset Indicator button on the right side of the base unit until the indicator light flashes red.
Step 2: On the HandsetPress and hold the Right Soft Key (OK) on the headset or desk phone until the screen shows Please Wait and then Registered.
Update Time Zone

The time your phone displays is linked to the time zone set in your online account. Use the following steps to manually change the time on your phone:

Step 1: Enable Web Access
  1. Press the Menu button.
  2. Go to Settings and then press OK.
  3. Go to Other Option and then press OK.
  4. Go to Embedded Web and then press OK.
  5. Verify ON is highlighted and then press OK.
Step 2: Acquire IP Address
  1. Press the Menu button.
  2. Go to Settings and then press OK.
  3. Go to Status and then press OK.
  4. Go to IPv4 Settings and then press OK.
  5. Go to IP Address, press OK and then document the result.
Step 3: Change Time Zone
  1. Open a web browser and enter the IP address of the phone in the Address bar.
  2. Sign in with the following credentials:
     
Usernameadmin
Passwordadminpass or <Vonage Business account number> or vonage
NOTE: If you cannot sign into the web interface, see Troubleshoot Issues. Once setup is complete, your password is your Vonage account number.
 
  1. Click System (at top) and then click Time Adjust Settings (on left)
  2. Go to Synchronization and enter time.vocalocity.com in the Server Address field.
  3. Go to Time Zone and make your selection.
  4. Click Save.
Troubleshoot Issues
One-Way or No Audio

Disable SPI Firewall and SIP ALG.

Phone Not Powering On
  • Verify power adapter is plugged into the base unit.
  • Use compatible components for Power over Ethernet connections.
Phone Not Displaying Date & Time

Verify the phone is set up and connected to the internet.

Phone Status Light Blinking Orange

Verify the phone is set up and connected to the internet.

Unable to Make Outbound Calls
  • Verify the phone is connected to the internet.
  • Disable SPI Firewall and SIP ALG.
Calls Consistently Drop After a Few Seconds or Minutes

Disable SPI Firewall and SIP ALG.

Phone Not Connecting to NetworkEnable DHCP using the following steps:
  1. Press Menu.
  2. Go to Settings and press OK.
  3. Go to Status and press OK.
  4. Go to IPv4 Settings and press OK.
  5. Go to DHCP and press OK.
  6. Verify Auto is highlighted and press OK.
The phone beeps and you are returned to the Network Settings menu.  Power cycle the phone so that it can obtain a DHCP address.
Unable to Register Handset to Base
  1. Press Menu.
  2. Go to Setting and press OK.
  3. Go to System and press OK.
  4. Go to Cancel Base and press OK.
  5. Press the checkmark soft key and then press OK.
  6. Highlight Yes when prompted to delete and then press OK.
  7. Pair your handset to the base.
