Paging Groups

Updated: 2/19/2026 7:31 AM

Broadcast one-way messages to a max of 25 extensions that are members of the same Paging Group. Members receive the broadcast through the speakerphone of their extension.

A message can be broadcast from any phone on your account, which includes softphones such as the Desktop App.

Only Super Users and Administrators can add, edit, or remove groups.

IMPORTANT: While it is recommended that you broadcast to extensions with compatible phones, you can force paging regardless of the phone assigned.

Cost: $5.00 per month (excluding GST) for each Paging Group on the account

Broadcast a Message

A message can be broadcast from any phone on your account, which includes softphones such as the Desktop App.

If paging is not forced to all extensions regardless of the device assigned, the broadcast will be received by extensions with compatible devices only.

  1. Dial the extension number for the Paging Group.
  2. Wait for the beep, then share your message.

Two short beeps alert group members of an incoming broadcast:

    ScenarioBehavior
If a page is initiated at the same time a member's phone ringsThe ringing stops, and the member receives a screen notification of the call; the member can answer the call.
If a page is in progress and a member receives an incoming callTheir phone does not ring. Instead, they receive a screen notification of the call. The member can answer the call.
If a page is initiated and a member has an active callThe message is not broadcast to that phone. Other members of the group receive the page.
If a page is initiated and a member has their phone set to Do Not DisturbThe message is not broadcast to that phone. Other members of the group receive the page.
If a page is initiated and receives a busy toneAll of the members of the Paging Group are busy.
