Assign a Phone Number to an Extension

Assign a phone number on your account to a feature such as an Extension, Virtual Receptionist, Call Group, or Call Queue. You can also remove a phone number from a feature and assign it to another one.

Only the Super User and Administrators can manage phone numbers.

Make a Phone Number Available
  1. Sign in to the Admin Portal.
  2. Click Phone System, then click Phone Numbers.
  3. Hover over the number you want to make available and then click the Minus Sign icon.
  4. Click Remove From Use
Assign a Phone Number
  1. Sign in to the Admin Portal.
  2. Click Phone System, then click the service you want to assign a phone number to:
     
    • Extensions
    • Virtual Receptionist
    • Call Group
    • Call Queue
  3. Hover over the feature and then click the Pencil icon.
  4. In Basic Settings, go to the Dialing & Administration section and then click the Select from available direct dial numbers drop-down.
  5. Select the number you want to assign, then click Add Selected Number(s).
  6. Click Save.
