Panasonic phones purchased from Vonage Business are delivered and are ready for use. A Factory Reset is only required if the phone was used with a prior service provider.
Add a Phone to an Extension
Set Up by Super User or Account Administrator
- Sign in to the Admin Portal.
- Click Phone System and then click Extensions.
- Hover over the extension you are adding the device to and click the Pencil icon.
- Click Devices and then click Add Device.
- Complete the following fields:
Active | Mark to indicate the device is ready for use. |
Device Name | Specify an identifier for the device. |
Provisioning Model | Select Panasonic Cordless. If you save the incorrect model, use the following steps to correct:
- Click Add Another Device.
- Mark the Active box and enter a Device Name.
- Select the device you want as the Provisioning Model and enter the MAC Address.
- Click Save.
- Hover over the device with the incorrect Provisioning Model and click the Trash icon.
NOTE: If three devices are assigned to an extension, you must click Remove Device before you can add another device. |
MAC Address | Enter the MAC Address, found on the label on the back of the phone. Refer to Duplicate MAC Address Error if you receive an error message. |
E911 Location | Select the E911 location for the device. |
SIP/Authorization ID | Populated automatically. |
SIP Password | Populated automatically. |
Confirm Password | Populated automatically. |
Registrar/Proxy | Populated automatically. |
- Click Save.
- Connect your phone to your network and power it on. If it was already powered on, reboot it.
NOTE: Your phone checks for available updates when it reboots. If an update is found, it can take up to 10 minutes to complete. - Verify that your extension number displays on your phone once it is finished rebooting.
Extension Displays | Your phone is now registered with Vonage service and is ready for use. |
Extension Does Not Display |
- Hover over the device you created and then click the Pencil icon.
- Go to Phone Configuration and then click Refresh.
- Factory Reset your phone.

Set Up by End User
- Sign in to the Desktop App.
- Click the Avatar , then click Settings.
- Click Devices.
- Go to the bottom of the page and click Add Another Device.
- Complete the following fields:
Active | Mark to indicate the device is ready for use. |
Device Name | Specify an identifier for the device. |
Provisioning Model | Select Panasonic Cordless. If you save the incorrect model, use the following steps to correct:
- Click Add Another Device.
- Mark the Active box and enter a Device Name.

- Go to Embedded Web and then press OK.
- Verify ON is highlighted and then press OK.

- Press the Menu button.
- Go to Settings and then press OK.
- Go to Status and then press OK.
- Go to IPv4 Settings and then press OK.
- Go to IP Address, press OK and then document the result.

Step 3: Factory Reset Phone |
- Open a web browser on a computer connected to the same network as your phone and then enter the phone's IP address in the Address bar.
- Sign in with the following credentials:
Username

Password
|
adminpass or <Vonage Business account number> or vonage

NOTE: If you cannot sign into the web interface, see Troubleshoot Issues. Once setup is complete, your password is your Vonage account number.
- Click the Maintenance tab and then click Reset to Defaults (on left).
- Click the Reset to Carrier Defaults button and then click OK.
Your phone reboots several times before the factory reset completes. Once completed you are ready to make and receive calls. |
Pair a Handset to the Phone Base
Step 1: On the Base Unit | Press and hold the Handset Indicator button on the right side of the base unit until the indicator light flashes red. |
Step 2: On the Handset | Press and hold the Right Soft Key (OK) on the headset or desk phone until the screen shows Please Wait and then Registered. |
Update Time Zone
The time your phone displays is linked to the time zone set in your online account. Use the following steps to manually change the time on your phone:
Step 1: Enable Web Access |
- Press the Menu button.
- Go to Settings and then press OK.
- Go to Other Option and then press OK.
- Go to Embedded Web and then press OK.
- Verify ON is highlighted and then press OK.

- Go to Synchronization and enter time.vocalocity.com in the Server Address field.
- Go to Time Zone and make your selection.

One-Way or No Audio |

Phone Not Powering On |
- Verify power adapter is plugged into the base unit.
- Use compatible components for Power over Ethernet connections.

Phone Not Displaying Date & Time |
Verify the phone is setup and connected to the internet.

Phone Status Light Blinking Orange |
Verify the phone is setup and connected to the internet.

Unable to Make Outbound Calls |
- Verify the phone is connected to the internet.
- Disable SPI Firewall and SIP ALG.

Calls Consistently Drop After a Few Seconds or Minutes |
Disable SPI Firewall and SIP ALG.

Phone Not Connecting to Network | Enable DHCP using the following steps:
- Press Menu.
- Go to Settings and press OK.
- Go to Status and press OK.
- Go to IPv4 Settings and press OK.
- Go to DHCP and press OK.
- Verify Auto is highlighted and press OK.
The phone beeps and you are returned to the Network Settings menu. Reboot the phone so that it can obtain a DHCP address. |
Unable to Register Handset to Base |
- Press Menu.
- Go to Setting and press OK.
- Go to System and press OK.
- Go to Cancel Base and press OK.
- Press the checkmark soft key and then press OK.
- Highlight Yes when prompted to delete and then press OK.
- Pair your handset to the base.
